Denny Hamlin: The Newest Dad In The Garage Area

Denny Hamlin may have come up short in his bid for the 2012 NASCAR Sprint Cup championship, but Monday morning he had to be full of pride. Hamlin’s longtime girlfriend, Jordan Fish, gave birth to the 32-year old driver’s first child — a daughter named Taylor.

Hamlin broke the news via his twitter profile:

“Introducing Taylor James Hamlin!!! Born Jan 20 at 20:20! Weighting 6lb 5oz and 20 inches in length.”

Hamlin of course had missed the recent Charlotte Motor Speedway test session while on “baby watch”, but it was all worth the wait Monday as there is a new addition in the Hamlin home.

Many will immediately wonder what impact this will have on Hamlin’s racing season, will he come out with more focus and attack for the championship or will he get off to a slow start due to sleepless nights? That all remains to be seen, but what we do know is that we’d like to pass on our congratulations to Denny and Jordan.
